Al-Burhan Grammar School

The School

Al-Burhan Grammar School was founded in September 2002. With kind support from my family and friends, I was able to achieve what I so long have aspired to. We had one aim in mind: to make a difference to the upbringing of children, to better their educational prospects and to ensure that they are successful in this life and in the hereafter. In educating young girls, we aim to prepare the mothers of the future will then be able to make a positive contribution to the society that they live in.

It is difficult to believe that the school started out in a small building of 5 rooms and had only 8 students. We moved to the present campus in April 2003.

The present campus is made up of 4 buildings. The main building is a three floor general classroom block which houses the Science Lab, ICT Room, Library, Administration office and other subject teaching rooms. The second building is a single storey L-shape which houses the Assembly Hall, Prayer Hall, Dining Room and Kitchen. The remaining two buildings are not being used at present. There is a sensible plan to refurbish these buildings to provide a dedicated Hall for PE and a Technology Centre.

A spacious ICT Suite
The Information and Computer Technology room contains 25 fully networked computers which are all connected to the internet. When lessons take place in the computer room, each student has her own computer workstation to use. All students have their own user account on the computer network with access to the internet which is monitored.

Al-Burhan Grammar School is a part of the Al-Burhan Foundation which is a registered charity in England. Al-Burhan Foundation is a non-profit making organisation with a firm commitment to reinvest any gain in order to add to the educational resources of the school.
