6th February 2022 – Passing away of Haji Mohammad Azam

“Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raaji’un”

“Indeed we belong to Allah , and indeed to Him we will return.”

It is with great sadness to announce that Haji Mohammad Azam returned to his Lord today.

He was in principle, one of the founders of Al-Burhan and part of the core group of dedicated and selfless individuals who helped build the School from nothing. In our previous campus, he spent days and nights transforming warehouse type rooms into a beautiful prayer room and assembly hall. He did all that work voluntarily.

He was a very humble, caring and noble individual who cared about his community. He placed great importance on faith and practiced it consciously in his daily life. Though he was 92 years old, he would still go to the masjid for al prayers, including on the day of his death.

The Messenger of Allah (S) said, “When a man dies, his deeds come to an end except for three things: Sadaqah Jariyah (ceaseless charity); a knowledge which is beneficial, or a virtuous descendant who prays for him (for the deceased).”
[Hadith; Riyad as-Salihin 1383]

We humbly request that you all make dua for him and recite Fatiha. May Allah (SWT) shower him with His blessings, have mercy on him, accept all his good deeds and intentions, and give patience and comfort to those he has left behind.
Ameen.
